We can agree that the most important factor to get better Google rankings are Backlinks. If you don’t know anything about SEO (and you should), Backlinks are incoming links to a webpage.

When a web page links to any other page, it’s called a backlink. A page with a lot of backlinks tends to rank higher with all major search engines, including Google.  There is a never ending debate on where you should get your backlinks. Not to get into specifics, you as a business owner have endless possibilities even if you are not investing a dime in online marketing for roofers (even though you should).

To make things nice and easy for you, here are few places where you can get a nice portion of Backlinks.

The easiest method is that you create your company profile on the numerous roofing forums and start engaging.

On some forums a link to your website will be posted automatically, and on the others, after you’ve finished writing your comments just add your link on the bottom. Don’t start aggressively adding links to your every post. Add them on the end of the post (like a signature) and nobody will ban you for that.

Over time, you will earn a nice number of niche relative forum links. On some of the forums after you hit at least 20 comments, you will have an opportunity to write a blog post. Write a 750 word article about something you know what is related to roofing and post it there. Then you will get a niche relevant blog link.

Like I said, possibilities are endless. You just need to educate yourself and dominate your competition.
