Successful Website Designs for Roofers | Profit Roofing Systems

What Is the Most Successful Website Design for a Roofing Company?

Whether you’re a casual social media checker or obsessed with all things tech—hey, even if you’re a roofer, it happens!—you may have seen your fair share of unique websites while traversing the online world. You may also have noticed that each website design has its own personality, in the form of fonts, colors, themes, and content—so where would one even start if they wanted to make their own personal page in their own corner of the internet?

At Profit Roofing Systems, we’ve been in web development for years, and we know a thing or two about developing websites for roofing companies like yours. Keep reading for some nuggets of wisdom in making your own SEO-friendly website!

Choosing Your Brand’s Aesthetics

Before even forming a glimpse of your own roofers website design in your mind’s eye, you absolutely need to think about the overall aesthetics and look of your business’ brand! Take a look at other roofing websites—what color scheme are they using? Do they have a unique logo, recognizable even from a distance? Most importantly, what do you see when you think of their name?

Plenty of our customers have a two-tone color scheme, like blue and white or gold and black. This color scheme follows them throughout their branding, and can be seen on their logo, website design, car wraps, merch, and more. You’ll want to find the same thing for yourself—two colors, ideally, that complement each other. After all, it’ll be the first thing that catches a visitor’s eye!

You don’t need a degree in color theory for this part—there are plenty of websites out there that can help you pick colors suited to your tastes, such as Canva. Try out Canva’s free color palette tool and see what you come up with!

Mobile Responsiveness and Fast Loading Speed

Having an aesthetically pleasing website is all well and good, but if it takes even a second longer for a page to open, or if everything’s cluttered and takes up space and is hard to read on a small phone screen, you’re going to lose potential customers fast. According to ConsumerAffairs.com, as of 2024, “[a]lmost all Americans (97%) own a mobile phone. […] About nine out of 10 of Americans own a smartphone.” Americans also “[…] spend 4 hours and 30 minutes on their mobile phones and check their phone 144 times per day.”

Now, more than ever, it is absolutely pertinent to have a mobile-friendly website and a fast loading speed. Always optimize the content and speed of your website before anything else!

SEO Optimization and Clear Call-to-Actions

You may be the best roofing contractor in your neighborhood, but that pretty much means nothing if nobody knows it! This is where SEO and call-to-actions come in. SEO (aka search engine optimization) is the process of improving your website in order to increase its visibility to consumers online without the use of paid advertising. SEO is key to a company’s web development; writing the right content using the right keywords can hit all the benchmarks of a successful website and get your name out there.

(By the way: having a visually appealing, fast-loading, mobile-responsive, accessible website is all part of SEO!)

Call-to-actions (aka CTAs) are, well, a call to action! These are buttons that can be found throughout a website’s pages in order to entice people to make a call, fill out an online form, request a free quote, and more. A clear, concise way of getting in touch with your company is of utmost importance when designing your site.

Accessibility

One in four adults in the U.S. has a disability. Creating a website that accommodates everyone’s different needs can go a long way to getting you seen on search engines—not to mention building a positive reputation with your customer base!

Here are just a few ways you can make your website accessible to everyone:

Color Contrast

Make sure the text and background don’t clash and are legible and easy to read.

Descriptive Headings

Use descriptive headings in order to help people with screen readers or other assistive devices orient themselves and find specific content on your page.

Alt Text

Implement alt text on your website’s photos. This text should be a brief and accurate description of the photo’s subject. Devices such as screen readers can read an image’s alt text out loud to those who need it.

Captions

Write captions for any and all videos that may be uploaded to your site.

Clear Navigation

Everyone should benefit from a clear, navigable page! Make sure people can find what they’re looking for quickly and easily.
